Hi everyone, I’m still feeling a bit hangdog because of last week, but now I have to pull myself together, instead of spending all day on news pages and on Facebook, to stay up to date and study all the different opinions and all the art about the latest events.
I believe that what happened will stay with us for quite some time, but I enjoyed the opportunity to distract myself from it. I went to the Labelparty of the all new Tardam Records in Amsterdam. Two bands were playing there, the Working Voodoo Club and the Mighty Typhoons, both being GRREAT! If you like RnB und Modjazz you definitely should check them out and get their singles. Great stuff. After the show Mr. Dean Rudland himself behind the desks and spinning some great tunes. A very nice evening it was, got my head straight.
Also, some more news: I feel blessed to be taking part in De Inktpot for the first time, the anthology of comic-artists from Utrecht. Now the new issue is here and available as a free download for a limited time. It contains an older story of mine that was published in my book ‘Sperrbezirk‘ but now in a different format and translated to English. Still it is quite up-to-date I think, as it is about how to deal with violence.
Also in this issue are Albo Helm, Arne Zuidhoek, André Slob, Paul Schoondermark, Ronald van der Heide, Niels Bongers, Arianne Notenboom, Ype Driessen, Danibal, Joshua Peeters and Niels de Hoog. Get it while you can and feel free to share.
